Obituary

Willie Ruth Cotton was born February 19, 1973, in Macon, MS, to the late Tommie James Roberson and Susie Cotton. Wille Ruth loved the Lord. At an early age, she confessed a hope in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. 

Willie Ruth was a 1991 graduate of Noxubee High School. She continued her education at East Mississippi Community College.

Willie Ruth loved reading, writing poetry, and singing. She was a great seamstress. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, Joe Cotton and Lizzie Cotton, and her special uncle John Henry Cotton. 

Her loving memory will forever be cherished by her husband, Leonard Portis; son, Joseph Javon Portis; two brothers, Robert Cotton and Leonard Cotton; aunt, Rosie Cotton; mother-in-law, Mary Portis; two-brothers-in-law Larry Portis (Anna) and Manus Portis (Bonnie); three sisters-in-law, Janie (Lamar) Stapleton, Gloria Portis and Mary Ann Portis; her best friend/sister, Phyllis Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
