Robert Bates was born on February 13, 1954, to Roosevelt Bates and Mae Bell Bates in Winston County, Mississippi.

Robert was baptized at St. James Presbyterian Church in Louisville, MS, at an early age and later joined New Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan.

Robert found loved and married Waldine Murray Bates in September of 2000. It was instant LOVE.

Robert was called home on April 21, 2023 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Take your rest Big Rob.
