Musa Levon Matthews

Musa Levon Matthews was born on July 5, 1977 in Chicago, Illinois and departed his life on February 18, 2022 in Lewisville, Texas. Musa joined New Zion M. B. Church at an early age and graduated from Louisville High School. Musa was the second born in a group of four. His brothers often teased each other about being born from a “Cat” and “Rat” Family. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Catherine Miller (Cat) and Mae Vergia Pleas (Rat). Musa loved children, loved to make others laugh and could tell you all you needed to know about cars. Musa leaves to cherish his memories a loving father, Willie David Matthews; a loving mother Linda Wellmaker and a loving stepfather, Larry Wellmaker; a devoted wife, Marketta Matthews; daughters, Desiree Thompson and De’ Asia Matthews and a special daughter, Elena Matthews; grandchildren, Kelsi Thompson, Meliya Bailey and Omarri Bladwin; brothers, Marlo Matthews, Muhammed Matthews, Masud Matthews (Tarvara) and Terrance McNeal; sisters Joni McNeal, LaTaska Hinton (Fred) and Janetra Wellmaker; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
