Elaine Colter

Elaine H. Colter, 66, of Louisville, MS, passed away from this life on April 6, 2023, to meet her Lord and Savior.

Elaine H. Colter was born on November 17, 1956, to Mr. Howard (Wing) and Jessie (Mae) Hoskins. She received her education at Louisville High School.

Elaine met Mr. Jimmy Colter in 1974. They were united in Holy Matrimony in May 1978; four children were born. She was a mom to everyone she knew and a great cook. She worked at Bellwood until they closed. She retired from Mississippi State as a cook.

She accepted Christ early in her life. She was a kitchen worker but didn't mind helping where she could. She joined Warren Chapel, where she was there for over 35 years until her health started to fail. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jessie Mae Hoskins; her father, Howard (Wing) Hoskins; her younger brother Lashun Hoskins.

She leaves to cherish her memories; her husband, Jimmy Colter; four sons, Kendall (Angie) Hoskins, Kendrick (Deandra) Hoskins, Cornelius (Tameika) Colter of Louisville, MS; Reginald Hoskins (Kiana), Phoenix, Arizona. One daughter Shundrieka (Calvin) of Fort Worth, Texas. Three sisters, Bernice Hoskins, Belinda Overstreet, and Sharon Mays (Larry). Three brothers, Jimmie Hoskins, Ronnie Hoskins, and Allen Hoskins. She leaves 15 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
