Byronica Banks

Byronica DeBerne Tommishauna Banks was born July 20, 1993, in Starkville, Mississippi. She was the daughter of LaWandra DeJoyce Kelly Johnson, Eric Banks, and Marsden Johnson, and the granddaughter of Ms. DeBerne Kelly of Louisville, MS, Mr. Erskine and Tommie Banks of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Mrs. Viola Johnson of Latta, SC. Byronica was preceded in death by her grandparents,  Mr. Nathaniel Kelly, Mr. Bobby Goss, Mr. Leo Johnson, Mr. Fred, and Judge Mildred McDuffie, and Mr. Willie Sells. She entered eternal rest in Birmingham, Alabama, on Friday, February 17, 2023.

Byronica (affectionately known as "Miss B") grew up in Irmo, South Carolina, where she graduated from Dutch Fork High School as an honor graduate. After graduation, she attended Brenau University Women's College (Brenau) located in Gainesville, GA. In 2015, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and was a Dean's List Scholar. Additionally, she was one of the first students at Brenau to obtain a Women's Leadership Certificate. During her time at Brenau, she was actively involved in a number of organizations.

Byronica is survived by her parents LaWandra DeJoyce, Eric, Marsden; brothers, Anthony, Elex, Alexander, and Benjamin; her grandparents, DeBerne Kelly, Erskine, and Tommie Banks, and Viola Johnson; a devoted aunt/sister, Clemmisa "Misa" Goss Presley; God family members, Joel, Dawn, Mollie, Lauren, and Alex Ducoste, Felisa Sanders, and Chris Lorick; her uncles, Eldridge, Fred, Thomas, Juan, and EJ; her aunts, Nancy, Christie, Jene, Michelle, Jacinda, Tammie, Ruth, Tabitha, and Helene; special cousins, Channing, Coletter, Raquel, Phoebe, and Chassity; her best friend, Staricka "Star"; her friends, Denielle, Jessica Shechianh, Akilah, Omari, Shanti, Bri, and Devony; her beloved sorors, Khandis Plunkett, Katara Phelps, Brittany Jackson, and Tekella Foster; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues, sorors, friends, and Saints of God who enriched her journey through life and are left to cherish fond memories.
